I may not be an elite coder, nor someone who can readily build an Android app from source code for testing, but I looked through the GitHub code and took a qualified guess about what to change to fix #26, and I personally feel reasonably sure that I changed the correct part of the code.
The "Allow edits by maintainers" button has been turned on.
